The last few months, we have witnessed escalation in the pace of events in Syria, where the country is facing serious challenges in keeping civil and social peace in the midst of increasing violence, and imperialistic threats.
The imperialist powers, with their allies in the region are working hard to create the conditions and to exploit the developing situation to interfere in Syria and impose their plans of governance and control over the Syrian people. The last trials in the UN Security Council was one more proof about the intentions and plans of the imperialist countries to conduct political and military interference in Syria.
In those contexts, WFDY reaffirms its position of rejection of any form of external interference in the internal affairs of sovereign countries like Syria, and calls for internal solutions for the escalating problems between the government and the opposition.
In this context, WFDY is worried about the increasing violence in Syria and calls for its immediate stop, and to start internal dialogue to guarantee peaceful future of Syria. The future of the internal issues of Syria is a road that must be chosen by the people of Syria and not by the bombs of NATO. The Syrian people can make their own choices to the road on social progress and always according to their own interest and not according to the imperialist plans of USA and their allies about the region. WFDY counts on the high level of awareness in Syria to initiate courageous reconciliation plans that will take into consideration the needs of all the Syrian people.
The models of foreign interventions have been always destructive and bloody experiences for the peoples of the concerned countries, and any intervention in Syria will only guarantee death and suffering for the Syrian people. It is a very important element in WFDY’s position about Syria to condemn all the US, EU and Turkish plans to impose political plans through military actions in and around Syria.
WFDY will work to strongly oppose those interventions and continue in its calls for peaceful internal solutions of the existing problems through national dialogue.
